Missouri State Highway Patrol Responds to Fatal Accident Involving a Train Over the Weekend

At 10:50 Saturday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a fatality accident that occurred near railroad mile marker 149 in Lafayette County. The accident reportedly happened when a Kansas City Southern Railways Train driven by 34-year-old Michael Davis of Independence, Mo. struck a pedestrian identified as 40-year-old Matthew Jeffers of Odessa, Mo., who was lying on the tracks. Matthews was pronounced deceased at 11:15, by the assistant Lafayette County Coroner.
