ST. LOUIS (AP) — The Missouri Supreme Court has upheld a state law banning felons from possessing firearms. The court's majority opinion used a "strict scrutiny" standard to analyze whether the felon-possession law violated the right to bear arms. Although that's the same standard included in a constitutional amendment passed by voters in 2014, the court said its ruling was based on the previous version of the constitution. That's because the defendants were charged based on incidents that had occurred in 2012.
