Marshall, Mo. (September 15, 2014)- The Missouri Valley College football team dropped down the latest edition of the NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll released Monday.

The Vikings are coming off a loss to Tabor (Kan.) College Saturday at Gregg-Mitchell Field by a 27-17 score.  The loss dropped MVC to 0-1 on the season and caused the Vikings to fall six spots in the latest poll to the No. 13 ranking.  Tabor improved to 2-0 and moved up four spots to the No. 4 ranking in this week’s poll.

The No. 13 ranking is the lowest for Missouri Valley since Sept. 21, 2009 when the Vikings were ranked No. 15 in the coaches’ poll.

Other Heart of America Athletic Conference teams ranked this week include No. 3 Baker University, No. 17 Benedictine College and No. 22 Peru State College.

The Vikings have now been ranked in 105 consecutive coaches’ polls, a streak that dates back to the beginning of the 2006 season.  The current Viking streak is the third longest active streak in the NAIA.

Missouri Valley will host No. 22 Peru State College at Gregg-Mitchell Field Saturday at 6 p.m.  The game will mark the HAAC opener for both teams.
