Mitchell B. Mckee, 53

Mitchell B. McKee, 53, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at his home.

He was born January 20, 1961, in Springfield, MO, a son of Wendell McKee and Mary J. (Keith) Herndon.

He managed Pfeiffer’s Flower Shop for many years and was an award winning floral designer.

He is survived by his parents, Wendell McKee (Martha), of Boonville, Mary J. Herndon, of Sedalia; a son, Paul McKee, of Springfield, MO; a step-son, Brian Dick, of Sedalia; a step-grandson, Emory Dick; a sister, Mary R. Mullins (Melvin), of Sedalia; two brothers, Andy McKee, of Sedalia, and Patrick McKee, of Dallas, TX; four step-brothers, three step-sisters; and several nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Philip and Cledith Pfeiffer, and Sam and Zola Keith; an infant brother, Wendell Joseph McKee; and his step-father, Bernard Herndon.

A private family funeral service was held at 10 am, Friday, June 6, 2014, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with Father Mark Miller officiating. Pallbearers were Austin Mullins, Jackson Mullins, Brandon McKee, Jordan McKee, Tony Black and Melvin Mullins. He was laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
