Moberly Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

A 19-year-old Moberly man has been arrested on child pornography charges.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Joseph Allen Schmitt was arrested Tuesday after a search warrant was executed at his residence and child pornography was found.

On Wednesday, Schmitt was charged in Randolph County with possession of child pornography - first offense, child molestation - first degree, and statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy - deviate sexual intercourse - person less than 12 years old. Bond was set at $500,000 cash only.

The Patrol says the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
