22-year-old Sedalia woman arrested on an active warrant

At 2:22 Tuesday afternoon Sedalia Police observed a female suspect with an active failure to appear warrant out of Sedalia, at Liberty Park. Upon confirmation of the failure to appear warrant for speeding  officers arrested 22-year-old Amber Aldrich of Sedalia, and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $500 bond.

Sedalia man arrested during a well being check on another person

Around 9:20 Wednesday morning Sedalia Police conducted a well-being check on a female subject on parole in the 200 block of South Washington. Upon arrival officers made contact with 33-year-old Richard Kurtz, who was found to have an active failure to appear warrant out of Pettis County. Kurtz was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail pending a $441.50 bond.

More thefts from vehicles reported in Sedalia

Just after 6:30 Wednesday morning a victim in the 1000 block of East 11th reported his Ruger .357 Mag Revolver valued at $500 was stolen from his vehicle, that was parked in his garage at the time. The theft reportedly took place sometime after 6am Tuesday morning. There were no suspects at news time.

At 1:40 Tuesday afternoon a victim in the 1300 block of South Grand reported the theft of his car stereo from his vehicle.

Woman reports someone filed a tax return using her name

Tuesday afternoon a female victim reported she had been called by the IRS in reference to last year’s tax return. The problem is the woman did not file taxes for last year. The woman told officers someone used her name to file the taxes.
