Motorcycle traffic stop lands two-people in jail Tuesday morning

Just after 3am Tuesday morning Sedalia police attempted to stop a motorcycle for failing to make a complete stop at 32nd and Limit. The rider pulled over to the side of the road, and reportedly walked away quickly, and entered a room at the Best Western at 3120 South Limit. The officers located the suspect identified as 32-year-old Joshua Jay Naylor of Sedalia, along with an occupant of the room 34-year-old Sarah S. Kearney of Sweet Springs. Following an investigation both suspects were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on 24 hour hold pending charges including drug related charges.

At 6:58 Tuesday evening Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 7th and Moniteau. Upon contact with the driver 33-year-old Rodrigo R. Pineda of Sedalia Dispatch confirmed he was a revoked driver. Pinada was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges of driving while revoked.

Man reports he was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday by someone he knows

Around 1pm Tuesday afternoon a victim came to the police station to report he had been robbed. According to the victim he caught a suspect attempting to get into his vehicle, and when he confronted the thief, he pulled a gun, and robbed him of $15. The victim reportedly knows the suspect, and an investigation is ongoing.

Pettis County sheriff’s Reports

Just after mid-night Tuesday morning Pettis County Deputies arrested 32-year-old Colby Alan Lewis of Sedalia during a traffic stop for a traffic violation. The Sheriff’s report states deputies found Lewis was in possession of Methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Lewis was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail on 24-hour hold pending a $3500 bond.

On Monday Pettis County deputies were dispatched to the area of Wessel Road, and Pacific School Road on a severly injured deer, the deer was reportedly dispatched for humane reasons.
