Mother reports her daughter was raped sometime over the last 4-weeks
According to a Sedalia Police report at 9:30 Monday morning a woman and her daughter contacted the police to report the daughter had been raped sometime over the past four-weeks. The rape reportedly took place at a residence in the area of 7th and Arlington. There was no other information at news time.
61-year-old Sedalia man arrested for domestic assault Sunday afternoon
At 3:28 Sunday afternoon Sedalia Police arrested 61-year-old Frederick R. Ledbetter after he admitted he put his hand around his wife’s throat, which she reported as choking her. At the time of the police report Ledbetter was on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges of domestic assault.
Sedalia man arrested for fraudulent use of a credit device Monday
Around 10:20 Monday morning a victim in the 400 block of North park reported a suspect had charged over $10,000 on his credit card in various places. Arrested in the case is 32-year-old Andrew J. Shaw of Sedalia. Shaw was taken to the Pettis County jail and placed on 24-hour hold pending charges of stealing, fraudulent use of a credit device, and forgery.
Local store reports the theft of clothing Sunday afternoon
Sunday afternoon a complainant at Gene’s Boots located at 3145 West Broadway reported a female suspect came into the store, and walked out with three pairs of blue jeans without paying for them. The police report states the police have a good description of the suspect.
