30-year-old Sedalia man arrested on warrants Saturday afternoon

Saturday afternoon (Aug. 30), Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of West 2nd Street Terrace on a warrant check. Upon arrival the suspect 30-year-old Robert Darnell Balance of the residence was found to have a probation warrant with a $2000 bond, and a no bond Marshalls Warrant. At the time of the police report he was in the Pettis County Jail pending further action.

Sedalia Man Arrested on Warrants During A Disturbance Call

At 7:46am Monday morning (Sept. 1), Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 400 block of North Grand on a disturbance call. According to the police report officers ran a computer check on those involved, and found that 39-year-old Scott Vansel of Kansas City Missouri had two failure to appear warrants out of Pettis County. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending $2,941 in bonds.

Warrant Check Nets Another Arrest

Around 9:45 Sunday morning (Aug. 31), Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check at a residence in the 1400 block of South Stewart. Upon arrival officers made contact with the suspect identified as 23-year-old Janeth Gonzalez of Sedalia. A check through dispatch confirmed a failure to appear warrant out of Pettis County. Gonzalez was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $1000 bond.

Employee of Dollar General Reports Theft

Just after 1pm Sunday afternoon (Aug. 31), Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Dollar General, at 713 East Broadway, on a theft complaint. Upon arrival the suspect had already left on foot. The police caught the 18-year-old man two-blocks away from the business, and he confessed to stealing a sandwich. He was issued a Municipal summons.

Sedalia Police arrested 33-year-old Dusty Parrish on a failure to appear warrant.

Several Thefts Reported

At 6:42 Saturday morning (August 30), a woman in the 400 block of West 23rd reported to Sedalia Police that $93 worth of items were stolen from her unlocked vehicle. There were no suspects at newstime.

A radar detector and some change was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of West 24th Saturday morning (Aug. 30).

Multiple items were reportedly taken from a victim’s vehicle in the 900 block of South Grand Just before 9am Monday morning (Sept. 1).

At 2:44 Sunday afternoon (Aug. 30), a woman in the 700 block of South Lafayette Avenue told Sedalia Police someone entered her home in the early morning hours as she slept, and stole an I-Pod Tablet valued at $200.

Around 12:15 Sunday afternoon (Aug. 30), the owner of an apartment in the 400 block of West 6th reported someone forced entry to an apartment, that a tenant had recently been evicted from. The owner said $200 worth of items are missing from the apartment. The owner gave officers the name of a possible suspect.

Early Monday morning (Sept. 1) an employee of Casey's, at 1601 East Broadway, reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole a 25-ounce beer, valued at $2.09. There is a possible suspect in the case.
