The Mothers Against Methamphetamine are very dedicated to helping educate Sedalia and the neighboring communities about methamphetamine. It's a huge problem in our area that affects not only those who use, but their families and friends.

They sponsor support groups for the families of methamphetamine addicts, helping them cope with the realities of tough love and the recovery process. MAMa meets the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month at 6:30 p.m. at 505 S Kentucky, Suite D in Sedalia. While they definitely are united against the horror of methamphetamine, they also have a strong support for people dealing with cocaine, date rape drugs, marijuana, inhalants, ecstasy, heroin, pain pills, alcohol and nicotine.

I got speak with Claudia Kays, the Executive Director of the local MAMa chapter, about what they do and what's coming up in the future.

So if you think you need more information, or you might know someone who needs help, feel free to go to a meeting. You can also visit their website, call 660-202-9619, or email kylesmom66@hotmail.com.

Educationally yours,
Behka
