COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — An unsanctioned fan group for the University of Missouri was ejected from a recent Missouri basketball game, apparently because of an inappropriate chant.

The Columbia Daily Tribune reports members of The Antlers were ejected from Mizzou Arena by university police about 15 minutes before tipoff of a game between Missouri and Gardner-Webb last weekend.

One of their chants directed at the Runnin' Bulldogs was deemed inappropriate and led to their dismissal. The chant, which begins "Scum, scum, scum, go back to where you're from," typically ends with "and die."

MU junior Emmett Delaney, a member The Antlers, said the group substituted "and cry," but they were still removed shortly after shouting it.

MU spokesman Davie Reiter says the group did not meet the university's expectations of its fans.
