INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The sixth-ranked Central Missouri Mules golf team fired an opening round 14-over par 302 and sits in ninth place after the first day of the Brickyard Crossing Intercollegiate at the Brickyard Crossing Golf Club. The second round of the day was rained out and the tournament has been shortened to 36 holes. The final round will take place Tuesday morning.

The Mules shot a 302 and trail tournament leaders West Florida and Central Oklahoma by 12 shots heading in to Tuesday's final round.

Teddy Jones shot an even par 72 to lead UCM and currently sits in a tie for fourth place, three shots back of the leader, Russ Purser of Central Oklahoma. Alex Springer shot a three-over par 75 and is tied for 26th. Travis Mays is tied for 36th after an opening round 76, while Cy Moritz and Sam Migdal are tied for 56th with rounds of 79.

Purser of UCO shot an opening round three-under par 69 and leads by two shots over Juan Miguel Heredia of West Florida and Anthony Cope of Missouri-St. Louis.

The final round tees off on Tuesday morning.
