Yesterday (Jan. 19), Behka had asked about bands and artists that you had to know from the 1980s and 1990s. We had referenced New Kids on the Block.

I was a kid in Junior High School, when New Kids on the Block, were the subject of a lot of conversations. I can still hear the screams of endearment and the squeels of girls that I hung out with during that time in my life, anytime New Kids or NKTOB played on the radio.

I think everyone then knew the whole album of 'Hangin' Tough' and 'Step by Step' by heart. If they didn't know the songs, they definitely knew the faces attached with the band from Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg or Danny Wood. I don't know if I knew very many girls who didn't have a favorite amongst those. Some wore the faces on the shirts, others on their trapper keepers (do they even make those anymore?) or in their lockers or even in the form of temporary tattoos. I wouldn't be surprised if some eventually got permanent ones, but that's a topic for another day.

Regardless, it's time to unleash the inner child for all those that I hung out with and get ready for New Kids on the Block to hit the road.

New Kids on the Block are teaming up this summer with TLC and Nelly. How's that for a trio at a concert?

The tour, dubbed The Main Event, was announced on ABC's Good Morning America Tuesday morning (Jan. 20).

The tour kicks off May 1 in Las Vegas, and tickets go on sale January 31 via Ticketmaster.  American Express card members can grab tickets starting this Friday, January 23, at 10 a.m. local time.

“We always have something special up our sleeves,” NKOTB's Donnie Wahlberg said in a statement. “Our fans keep asking us to come back out on the road, and we want to keep giving them what they want!  We wanted to make sure it was something new and fresh and fun and totally worthwhile for all of our supporters year after year.  This year, we are making it THE MAIN EVENT.  And we promise, it will be THE TICKET of the summer.”

In a statement, TLC added, "We are thrilled to be able to join pop icons NKTOB and Nelly on tour. We are equally excited to be back on the road connecting with our fans in such huge arenas."
