Bothwell Health Center is pleased to announce that anesthesiologist Dr. Jared Engles has joined the team.

Dr. Engles and his wife Christi are Sedalia natives and are excited to return home. Dr. Engles is a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, and Mrs. Engles is a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. After graduation, Dr. Engles completed undergraduate degrees in Biochemistry, Chemistry and Biology at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he graduated with honors.

He received a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine in May 2012 from A.T. Still University-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated in the top 15 percent of his class. Dr. Engles went on to complete a four-year residency in anesthesiology at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, where he served as Chief Anesthesiology Resident. In addition to the general anesthesia residency at Des Peres, he also completed pediatric anesthesia training at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, and work in cardiac, obstetrical and trauma anesthesia, as well as out-patient pain medicine.

“We are incredibly excited about having Jared join our team,” said Bothwell Chief Executive Officer Jimmy Robertson. “This is exactly the kind of recruitment we like to do – to be able to follow a hometown boy through his education and bring him and his family back here. We know he’s here because he loves this community, and he plans to make it his home for a very long time.”
