John Kenneth Hall, 82, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Rest Haven Convalescent and Retirement Home.

He was born June 11, 1931, in Kansas City, Kansas, son of John Owen and Barbara Alice Hooper Hall. On May 1, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, he married Joan Nelson, who survives of the home.

Mr. Hall retired from the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department after 27 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas, and the Kansas City, Kansas Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking and building cabinets, and had built three homes. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, survivors include two daughters, Jan Hall, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Julie Durbin (Jim), of Independence, Missouri; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Jeff Page, Funeral Celebrant officiating.
