Tuesday, March 05, 2013 10:52 AM Joy A. Hoard, 76, of Sedalia, passed away, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.  She was born on April 18, 1936, in Sedalia, a daughter of Darrell and Ruth (Tietze) Harmon.

Joy was a 1954 graduate of Smith Cotton High School and a graduate of Central Business College.  During her life, she worked at a number of places, including: Morrison Knudsen, Show-Me Regional Planning Commission, Rural Missouri, Inc., Seminole Decor Center and Sutherlands.  She also served as a consultant to assist companies to improve business processes.  She loved spending time with family, friends and classmates.  Joy was a member of The Red Hat Ladies and Immanuel United Church of Christ.

She is survived by two children, Laurie (Rick) Thomas of Mtn Home, AR and David (Beth) Hoard of Greenwood, IN; three grandchildren, Christopher, Emily and Abby; one cousin, Marilyn DeHaven of Sedalia.

She was preceded in death by her parents.   A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia.

Pallbearers will be Tony Neth, James McFatrich, Rick Thomas and Christopher Ditzfeld.   Honorary bearers will be Jeff and Pat DeHaven.   Family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, Friday, March 8, 2013 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.   Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
