Sedalia hosted many bikers on Saturday (June 15) for a special salute to the Patriot Guard Riders. State Representative and Chairman of the Missouri House Veterans Committee Charlie Davis organized the Patriot Guard Summer Rally to show appreciation for the riders who honor military families at funerals, participate in parades and support the military.

In addition to the Patriot Guard, riders from the American Legion Riders, Green Knights, VFW Motorcycle Groups and other motorcycle riders showed up for the event.

Riders met at the Sedalia Regional Airport and rode to the Missouri State Fairgrounds, where a motorcycle show and rodeo took place. Visitors also had the chance to ride in an Army tank and see two bands play throughout the night.

Davis said he appreciates the patriotism that the Patriot Guard shows everywhere they go and wanted to make sure their efforts were recognized and appreciated.
