Peace Officer’s Memorial Ceremony Honors Those Who Protect and Serve

The Sedalia Police Department will hold its 16th Annual Peace Officer's Memorial Ceremony on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the Municipal Building located at Second and Osage. Opening ceremonies will begin at 6 p.m., and will take about 20 minutes.  An open house and reception will follow until 8 o'clock.

If you have never attended a ceremony, please take the time to do so this time. It is a time to honor the fallen who have given their lives to protect and serve the citizens of their communities.  Let's show our law enforcement professionals we appreciate them, and understand the dangers they face every day. Let's take the time to join them as they pay respect to their brothers and sisters of the badge, who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

I hope to see a huge crowd at 6 p.m., Tuesday evening on May 15, 2012, spilling into the street at City Hall.
