A Pettis County Sheriff's deputy responded to Highway M and Goodwill Chapel Road early Wednesday morning at 4:41 a.m. When he arrived, he discovered a full-sized Chevy van in a field fully engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, several attempts were made to contact the owner of the vehicle, but all were unsuccessful. The investigation continues.


 

On Tuesday morning, took a theft report in the area of North Heard and Boonville. Taken was a Honda GX 270 gas-powered engine that was stolen from a log splitter. The engine was estimated at $600.


 

On Wednesday morning, Pettis County deputies arrested Rachael Becker, 26, of Sedalia, on a probation violation warrant.


 

Late Tuesday night, Pettis County deputies arrested Arthur E. Doyle on a Pettis County warrant. Doyle was given a June 6 court date and a $250 cash bond.


 

On Monday, Temp Stop, in the 4500 block of South Limit, reported that a known male subject entered the business on Sunday afternoon around 4:55 p.m. and took merchandise from the business without paying for it. The investigation continues.
