On April 9, Pettis County deputies took a report of burglary and vehicle theft in the 2900 block of E. 28th Street. Several tools, toolboxes, sandblaster, torch, and several hand tools had been taken. A 2003 Dodge Ram truck with chrome running boards and rust around the wheel-wells was also stolen. The truck is red with silver on the bottom of the doors and bed.


On April 8, Pettis County deputies arrested Mary Elizabeth Hartman, of Sedalia, on an active warrant from the state of Florida. Charges have been filed against Hartman for the Fugitive from Justice warrant and Possession of a Controlled Substance, with a bond amount of $110,000.


On April 8, Pettis County deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of S. Park Ave and Elm Hills Blvd for a vehicle displaying the tags of another. According to the report, while the vehicle was still rolling, the front seat passenger threw out several items. Deputies reportedly located a light-bulb that was being used to smoke methamphetamine. The passenger, Carlos Staten, was arrested for tampering with evidence and a warrant from Johnson County, MO. Deputies then spoke with driver, Kathleen Kraft, and arrested her for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. Staten and Kraft were both placed on 24-hour holds, pending charges.
