I was driving down Grand shortly after 7 p.m. and noticed some Sedalia Police cars and an ambulance at the intersection with 14th.   A Chevy pickup truck struck a the corner of 1400 S. Grand just moments before.  I did not get an opportunity to speak with the driver or authorities.

Onlookers told me that the owner of the pickup had just had some work done to the rear axles of the vehicle.  Something failed causing him to jump the curb, run through a fence and strike the house.  I was also told by witnesses that the Sedalia Police Department conducted a field sobriety test on the driver.  It was obvious to me that they were not pursuing impaired driving as a possible factor.  There were no injuries reported with this accident.

I spoke to the people living in the home.  They said they are looking forward to a new fence and to have the Christmas lights that they hadn’t taken down yet replaced.
