Police Investigate Homicide-Suicide in Eastern Missouri

Authorities say a man fatally shot another man in eastern Missouri and then killed himself about an hour later as police attempted to arrest him.

KSDK-TV reports that police responded around 8:30 p.m. to a shooting in Farmington and found a 39-year-old man dead. Police say a witness told officers he was outside working on a car with the victim when a man drove up to them and shot the victim three times with a rifle.

The witness identified the shooter as 35-year-old Justin Kyle Brooks. Police found Brooks in a shed about an hour later. When officers announced they were outside, police heard a gun go off inside. They then entered the shed and found Brooks dead.

Farmington is about 60 miles (about 95 kilometers) north of St. Louis.
