Denny and I talked on Bob FM about popular rock bands, and whether or not rock could ever capture what it had in the '60s and '70s.  I have to admit, my favorite bands got started in that era.   Pink Floyd,  Queen, Led Zepplin,  just to name a few.  But who is your favorite today?

Billboard has the following albums in the Top 5:

  • Little Broken Hearts by Norah Jones
  • Blunderbuss from Jack White
  • Born Villian from Marilyn Manson
  • The Avengers Soundtrack
  • Making Mirrors by Gotye.

While I dig the song Somebody I Used To Know by Gotye,  I have a hard time figuring out the rest. I hear The Avengers is a great movie, and I had no clue Marilyn Manson was on top of the album charts again.

Time will tell whether all these artists become like the bands I mentioned, but for now I'll crank up "The Wall" and "Dark Side of the Moon" and be happy about it.

Denny, since you were unfamiliar with Gotye, here you go:
