Popular Music Today: Who is Your Favorite?
Denny and I talked on Bob FM about popular rock bands, and whether or not rock could ever capture what it had in the '60s and '70s. I have to admit, my favorite bands got started in that era. Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zepplin, just to name a few. But who is your favorite today?
Billboard has the following albums in the Top 5:
- Little Broken Hearts by Norah Jones
- Blunderbuss from Jack White
- Born Villian from Marilyn Manson
- The Avengers Soundtrack
- Making Mirrors by Gotye.
While I dig the song Somebody I Used To Know by Gotye, I have a hard time figuring out the rest. I hear The Avengers is a great movie, and I had no clue Marilyn Manson was on top of the album charts again.
Time will tell whether all these artists become like the bands I mentioned, but for now I'll crank up "The Wall" and "Dark Side of the Moon" and be happy about it.
