Price C. Jackson, 87, of Sedalia, passed from this life on Monday, August 12, 2013.

He was born October 23, 1925, in Howard County near Fayette, MO, the son of Romie Silas Jackson and Gracie Belle Sims. Price lived many years in Howard County before moving to Sedalia with his parents.

On June 1, 1945, at the Fifth Street Methodist Church in Sedalia, he married Lorraine Olson, who survives of the home.
He was employed by several lumber yards and then became a self-employed carpenter. He built numerous homes, four of which were for his own family. He was a skilled and respected craftsman. Price was always willing to share any of his knowledge of carpentry and was always helping others.

He enjoyed listening to country music, fishing, working cattle on his farm and spending time with his family.

His family will cherish his memory and are so thankful to have had him in their lives. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife of 68 years, he is survived by his daughter, Carla Young, and her husband Gary, of Sedalia; his son, Jeff Jackson, and his wife, Carla, of Sedalia; two grandsons, Chris Young, of Pleasant Hill, and Matt Young, and his wife, Amanda, of Columbia; one granddaughter, Jennifer Jackson, of Sedalia; two great-grandchildren, Alaina and Cole Young; two brothers, Bobby Jackson, of Pilot Grove, and Ivan Jackson, of Phoenix, AZ; three sisters, Barbara Hoover, of Sedalia, Sandra Bader, of Boonville, and Connie Bader, and her husband, Johnnie, of Boonville; and one sister-in-law, Anna Mae Jackson, of Buckner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Carl Dean Jackson (in childhood), Claude Jackson and Victor Jackson.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 15, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Jeff Page, Funeral Celebrant, officiating.
Casket bearers will be Jennifer Jackson, Chris Young, Matt Young, Wendell Olson, Leonard Butler, Larry Olson, Jerry Olson and Bob Cranfill.
Honorary bearers will be Jackie Butler, David Miller, Lloyd Brewington and Howard Nelson.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, at Heckart Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Bethel United Methodist Church, where he had been a member since 1947, at 22150 Smelser Road, Hughesville, MO 65334.
