There are certain things I most remember from my childhood and one of them is when my brother and I bought a Nintendo and then later Game Boy.  The Game Boy in a lot of ways has gone the way of VHS, but was the thing to have when it first came out in 1989 and set the standard for today's gaming world. It came out in a time when hand held games were becoming the rage. It made for many trips to Detroit, easier on my parents, since you could take games with you on the road. I know that the Game Boy is no longer made, but five years ago was put into the National Toy Hall of Fame.
I think it's safe to say that I remember countless hours of game time, with my favorite being Tetris. I'd play until the batteries died. I sometimes wonder if Game Boy was the culprit for rechargeable batteries being made.
I came across this video and I'm wanting to give a Game Boy to my kids to see if they have the same reaction. I have to admit, I am cringing at the thought of a whole generation of kids not knowing what the Game Boy was and is. While this is playing, I'm going to get the Tetris game going.
