JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Police in Jefferson City have identified a body found in the Missouri River this past weekend and are continuing to investigate the cause of death.

Jefferson City police say the body is identified as 38-year-old Christopher Durbin, of Russellville.

The Jefferson City Police Department said an autopsy is planned Monday and that nothing has been ruled out in the death investigation. Police declined to release additional information about the state of the body.

The body was recovered early Saturday after officials from the Union Pacific Railroad reported seeing it near the old Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City.
