Raymond Leo Maupins, 63, of Sedalia, passed away at his daughter’s home in St. Joseph, MO, on April 8, 2015.

He was born December 12, 1951, in Sedalia, son of Bud and Ada Gladys Maupins Hodges, who preceded him in death.

Raymond received his high school diploma from the Stratford Career Institute.

He drove a taxi and worked at Con Agra, Hayes Wheels, and Tyson Foods. On November 15, 2010, Raymond opened his own taxi company, AGMH Taxi, which closed October 1, 2014, due to illness.

He was a member of Wards Memorial Missionary Church, where he was baptized in April of 2013.

Raymond is survived by his children: David (Lavonne) Maupins, of Columbia, MO; Troi (Marquita) Maupins, of Kansas City, MO; Yolanda Maupins, of St. Joseph, MO; Ada Maupins, of Liberty, MO; and SeanPaul Maupins, of Excelsior Springs, MO; two sisters, Laura Goodwin, of Warrensburg, MO, and Bonnie Ballance, of Sedalia; and three brothers, Jimmy Washington, of Springfield, IL, Morrece Poindexter and Melvin Ballance, both of Sedalia, MO; special friends, Larry and Grant Bradshaw and Joe Johnson; and grandchildren, cousins, friends, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, twin granddaughters, a grandson, and three unknown grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, at Wards Memorial Baptist Church.

Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
