Here is a sampling of cases that were resolved in Pettis County Circuit Court from September 13 - 17, 2018; courtesy of Pettis County Prosecutor Phillip T. Sawyer.

Justin S. Lange:  age 37,  Sedalia,  MO was sentenced to three 7 year sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections on three separate matters (1 count Domestic Assault, 1 count Armed Criminal Action and 1 count Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine).


Timothy R. Smith:  age 30, Smithton, MO was sentenced to 4 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for Resisting Arrest.


William Avery Johnson:  age 45, Sedalia, MO was sentenced to 2 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for Driving While Revoked.


Shawn Michael Steele:  age 21, Eldon, MO was sentenced to 2 years in the Department of Corrections for Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine and 2 year sentence on a separate matter after his probation was revoked.


Thaddeus J. Owings:  age 39, Sedalia, MO was sentenced to 4 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for Harassment.


David Ryan Batzel:  age 33 Sedalia, MO was sentenced to 120 days in the Pettis County Jail for Trespassing.


Claybourn Casey Shafer:  age 43,  Gravois Mills,  MO was sentenced to 10, 4 and 4 year sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections under 217.362 on three separate matters (1 count Driving While Intoxicated, 1 count Driving While Revoked and 1 count Resisting Arrest).


Richard Danforth Bartlett:  age 18, Sedalia, MO was sentenced to two 4 year sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections on two separate matters (1 count Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine and 1 count tampering with Physical Evidence).  In addition, Mr. Bartlett was sentenced to two 7 year sentences after his probation was revoked in two separate matters.
