Regina Elizabeth Cook, 91 of Sedalia, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at her home.

Regina was the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Putthoff) Kalwei, born January 18th, 1922 in Montrose Mo. Regina was raised on a farm near Montrose and educated in Montrose. She moved to Sedalia and worked at Lamy’s Company for several years. She married Emmet Cook on April 12, 1948 at St. Patrick’s Church with Father Joseph T. Nolan Officiating. They moved to Kansas City and she worked at Sears Roebuck. She then moved back to Sedalia with her family where she was a homemaker and worked at Ramada Inn. She moved to Winchester Meadows in 2006 where she enjoyed the many activities and friends. She enjoyed playing Pinochle, puzzles, canning, cooking, riding horses when she was young, and teasing her children. Regina was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for over 56 years.

Regina is survived by four children, Roger Cook (Julie), Darrel Cook (Beth), Joyce Woolery (Keith) and Vernon Cook (Shawna); a sister, Josephine Cook of Independence, MO; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. James Betzen officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Prayers of the rosary will begin at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Sacred Heart Foundation or St. Patrick’s Church, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
