On Wednesday, Representative Nathan Beard announced that he will not seek re-election in the Missouri House of Representatives.

Rep. Beard has served four years in the Missouri House.

He was first elected as State Representative of the 52nd district, which includes Sedalia, without opposition in 2014 and was then re-elected to a second two-year term in 2016.

In a press release, Beard said, “It has been and will continue to be a great honor to serve the people of the 52nd district through the end of this year. My wife Elisabeth and I believe in our great system of governance and together we decided to give four years of service to our community as State Representative. Those four years have gone quickly and we, including our six children, look forward to serving the great citizens of the 52nd district in other ways to help keep our community great.”

Beard added, “I am confident that honest, well qualified individuals stand ready and willing to give of their time to represent our community with honor and integrity.”
