Rev. Betty Ruth Martin, 78, passed away, Tuesday, April 02, 2013, with family by her side at her sister’s home.  She was born on January 6, 1935, in Pettis County, a daughter of Alva and Arizona (Paxton) Lemens.

On October 22, 1976 she was united in marriage to Dr. Rev. Harvey Lee Martin, who survives of the home.

Betty was ordained into Pentecostal Ministry on March 19, 1962.  She was instrumental in producing the record “New Dawn Trio” at Bill Gaither Studio in Alexander, IN.  She loved gospel music, playing the piano and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Sherry Harris of Sedalia, Robert "Jim" (Sandra) McCall of Clarksville, TN and Connie (Brent) Sandidge of Marshall; one sister, Helen Alford of Sedalia; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn McFarland; five sisters, Margaret Schick, Virginia Brockman, Georgia McCall, Anna Marie and Alma Lucille; two brothers, Alva and William Lemens.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at New Life Church of the Open Bible at 1:00 pm, Friday, April 5, 2013, with Pastor Mark Kosifas officiating.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
