Richard F. Knipp, 63, of Sedalia passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 at his home in Sedalia, MO.  He was born on May 19, 1952 in Trenton, MO the son of Frank J. Knipp and Marjorie M. Burnett, who preceded him in death.

On December 13, 2012, in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to his companion of 32 years, Christine Lloyd, who survives of the home.

He worked at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia, where he retired in May of 2014, after 17 years. He enjoyed target shooting, road trips, and his pet dogs. He often went out to deliver and donate supplies to the Sedalia Animal Shelter. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Hopkins of Sedalia, Lori Potts of Olathe, KS and Melissa Knipp-Hall (Nick) of Syracuse, MO; three grandchildren, Alex, Sarah and Megan; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Hays (Violet) of Sedalia; three nieces, Terri, Michele, and Amy all of Sedalia; along with numerous nieces and nephews from surrounding areas.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Fae L. Hays and a brother James E. Knipp.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tony Chapman officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Mike McDermott, Kenneth Hays, Jeff Blankenship, Kenny Blankenship, Lynn Staus and Shannon Roberts.

Honorary bearers will be Nick Hall, Steve Hopkins, Dennis Warren and Tim Meyer.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in care of the funeral chapel.
