Bassey played at the Mullen’s Junior College Top 100 in Wichita, Kansas, on July 21-23. Walker played at the Mullen’s Junior College Showcase in Dallas on July 21. Bassey and Walker played in three games attended by numerous college coaches.

“It was a good experience for Isaac to go against players that are as big as he is,” said Head Coach Matt Brown. “A.J. fared pretty well, and he told me that he felt pretty good about the event. It was good for him to go against players of his quickness and his ability, and it was also good for him to see what he still needs to work on.”

Bassey averaged 4.1 points per game as a freshman at SFCC and pulled down 3.8 rebounds.

Walker is a transfer from Little Priest Tribal College, an NJCAA Division II school in Winnebago, Nebraska. As a freshman, he averaged 15 points per game to lead his team while shooting 42 percent from the field.

He shot 35 percent from the three-point arc and 70 percent from the free-throw line. He dished out a team-high 4.6 assists per game. Walker played at Ruskin High School in Kansas City.

“Playing in these events was a good experience for Isaac and A.J.,” said Brown. “They found out what they do well and what they need to work on to get to the next level.”
