Child Safe’s Rock the Color 5k Walk/Run is scheduled for Saturday, July 16 on the Missouri State Fairgrounds Midway.

The event will feature many new activities including a Lil’ Ones Color Run for children 9 and under, live music from One Track Train, face painting, cool games, food, and much of it will be free or available for a donation or low cost.

The event's Grand Finale includes The Running of the Gauntlet, where city and county dignitaries and others will be soaked with colored water from super soakers. Individuals can donate $10 to do the soaking and/or $10 to nominate someone to be soaked.

This is sure to be amusing and it is a great way to support Child Safe’s mission of responding to and preventing child abuse. To sign up to soak or nominate someone in advance email masbury@childsafehouse.org or it can be done at the event

Karissa Logan, Child Safe Board Vice President and Event Co-Chair said “This is the third year I’ve chaired a Color 5K to benefit Child Safe but I think it will be the most exciting. We have so many things planned for kids and families.”

There will still be plenty of color thrown on the participants during the run/walk, which is the signature element of the event. Logan added, “We want people to come early and stay after the run to enjoy all the activities.” Runners can register at www.childsafehouse.org or at the event. But you don’t have to be a walker or a runner to enjoy the FUN. More details can be found on Child Safe’s website.
