Ronald Alwin Viebrock, 68

Ronald Alwin Viebrock, 68, of Cole Camp, died Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Harry S. Truman Veteran’s Hospital, Columbia.  He was born on January 7, 1946, at Sedalia, a son of Alwin A. and Dorothy J. (Gerken) Viebrock.

Ron attended Cole Camp High School before joining the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany.  He helped drill water wells for Barnes Well Drilling of Cole Camp and buried underground telephone lines for Telecom in Windsor.  He was a construction worker for many years, having worked for Jim Parmer Construction in Nacona, Texas, Coil Construction in Sedalia, and Lacuma Builders in Sedalia. He was a life member of the VFW Post 8558 of Texas and a member of the American Legion Post No. 305 of Cole Camp.  Ron was known to be a great dancer and loved to visit with family and friends.

He is survived by:
his daughter, Angie Guana and her husband Benny of Nacona, Texas;
one sister, Karen Shipp and her husband Gerald of Odessa;
one brother, Lowell Viebrock and his wife Janet of Cole Camp;
three grandchildren, Cody, Macy, and Blake Guana;
one great-granddaughter, Ellie Grace;
one great-step-grandaughter, Elizabeth;
seven nephews, Jason, Johnny, David, Daniel, Larry, Lance, and Jesse; and
five nieces, Julie, Melissa, Delena, Annette, and Elizabeth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jerry Kabler, and one brother, Dale Viebrock.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp, with Pastor Sandy Schlesselman officiating.  Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Cole Camp, with military honors by the American Legion Post No. 305 of Cole Camp.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to American Legion Post No. 305 or St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.

Pallbearers will be Jason Viebrock, Johnny Viebrock, Robert Wienberg, Cecil Schlesselman, Bill Viebrock, and Kenneth Viebrock.
