Roundabout Wreck Injures Sedalia Man
A Sedalia man suffered moderate injuries in a rollover accident that occurred near the roundabout at the western edge of Sedalia early Saturday morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 33-year-old Franklin D. Greer was the driver of a southbound 2007 Toyota on Winchester Drive, 300 feet north of Route Y, at 1:40 a.m., when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch and a light pole. The Toyota then crossed over Route Y, struck a sign, went airborne and struck a ditch, a utility pole and a yield sign before coming to rest.
Franklin was not wearing a safety device, according to the report. He was transported too Bothwell Regional Health Center by ambulance for treatment.
According to the MSHP, Greer was arrested for DWI shortly after 2 a.m. He was also charged with failure to drive on the right side of the roadway, resulting in a crash.
The Toyota was totaled and towed from the scene by Don's Truck Towing.
The Sedalia Police Department and Pettis County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
