Ruby B. Shoemaker, 107, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born June 19, 1905, in Sedalia, a daughter of John W. and Ida M. Farnsworth Ward.  On April 4, 1925 she married Paul D. Shoemaker who preceded her in death on August 31, 1971.

Ruby worked for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator.  She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, the Telephone Pioneer's and the Eastern Star, where she had her 50 year pin.

Ruby is survived by her son, Paul D. Shoemaker, Jr. and his wife Mary, of Marshall; a daughter, Neva Lee Vansell, of Sedalia; 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by both parents, a brother, Clarence Ward; a granddaughter, Sheri Moore; a granddaughter in-law, Dorothy Shoemaker; a son in-law, Richard Vansell, Jr. and a great grandson, Michael Smith and a great-great-great-grandson, Parker Franklin.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home., with Rev. Shelby Seelinger officiating.

Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home.
