Ruby Brummet, 76, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday evening, January 16, 2014, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Cole Camp.

She was born March 4, 1937, in Sweet Springs, daughter of Roy and Martha Naomi Witcher Moore. On October 28, 1983, in Sedalia, she was married to Edward Eugene Brummet, who preceded her in death on June 23, 2003.

Ruby graduated from Nelson High School. She worked at Town and Country Shoes, JA Lamy's, Around the Fireside and Maxine's. She and her husband owned Classic Studio. She was currently employed at Salvation Army.

She was baptized at Mt. Zion Christian Church in Dunksburg.

She loved to be with family and friends and enjoyed dancing at the Moose Lodge.

She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 1242, where she held all the offices and had held one state office. She joined in 1983 and was very active and supportive of the lodge. She made several good friends and always enjoyed the conventions.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan Dougan (Vernon), of Sedalia, and Karen Rayl, of Green Ridge; two grandchildren, Katie Close (Matt), and Brian Rayl; and a wonderful great-grandson, Damion Edward Close.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Rayl; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Downing and the Rev. Jared Wheeler officiating.
Casket bearers will be Matt Close, Charlie Rayl, John Closser, Mark Allen, Harlan Reid and Gary Charles.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
