Ruby E. Lewis, 93

Ruby E. Lewis age 93 of Hughesville passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 at her home.

She was born on May 21, 1922 in Florence, MO daughter of George and Margaret J. Speaker Ratje. She was married on May 23, 1936 in Sedalia to Carl L. Lewis and he preceded her in death on April 6, 1992.

Ruby was a member of the Hughesville Baptist Church. She enjoyed working at the Hughesville Locker. She also enjoyed attending to her flowers, working in her yard and going to the casino. Ruby loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by seven daughters; Deloris Adams (Ronald) of Windsor MO, Charlotte Beal (Tom) of Jefferson City, MO, Susie Goode of Sedalia, Karen Shackles (Homer) of Hughesville MO, Connie Gilmore of Jefferson City, MO, Patti Wicker (Ramie) of Houstonia, MO, Janice Dollinger (Don) of Hughesville, MO, four sons; Charles Lewis (Clara) Marshall, MO, Bill Lewis (Barbara) of Warrensburg, MO, Carl Lewis of Georgetown, MO, Rick and the late Cathy Lewis of Hughesville, MO, twenty-eight grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren, thirteen great great grandchildren, sixteen step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.

She was preceded by one sister; Frances Cross, two brothers; George Ratje and Charles Ratje, one daughter; Barbara Jean Lewis, two grandsons; Timothy James Hopkins and James Wesley Wicker, one great grandson; Blaine Hood.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 17, 2015 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Rev. Jule Maskrod officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Carl Daniel Lewis, Zachary Wicker, Carl Cody Wicker, Quincy Lewis Wicker, Thomas Lewis and Joshua Lewis.

Honorary pallbearers will be the remainder of the grandchildren. Burial will be at High Point Cemetery at Hughesville, MO. Memorials may be given to Pyramid Home Health or Donor's Choice.
