STING Unit finds drugs while searching for a parole violation suspect

According to a press release from the Sedalia Police Department’s S.T.I.N.G. Unit at approximately 1:13 Thursday afternoon May the 22nd 2014 Detectives with the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Sedalia Police Department along with Police Patrol Units responded to 537 East 4th in an attempt to locate a subject with an active Parole Violation Warrant. During a search of the residence the suspect, 40-year-old Cary A. Longie was located hiding inside, and taken into custody. A subsequent search of the room where the suspect was located revealed Methamphetamine, Prescription Pills, and Drug paraphernalia. The press release also states evidence was found that indicated the suspect was distributing Methamphetamine from the residence within 2000 feet of Smith Cotton Junior High School. Longie was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on 24-hour hold  pending formal drug related charges, plus the no-bond Parole Violation Warra
