Sacred Heart Blesses The Pets

Sacred Heart Elementary School held their ninth annual Blessing of the Pets on Friday, Oct. 5.

The blessing is conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisis, who stressed love for all creatures.

Deacon Arvol Bartok offered the Blessing for pets of students Pre-K through Grade 5, as well as parish and community members.

They was a chicken, many dogs and cats, a turtle, a hamster and a gerbil at the event. Children who were unable to bring their pets held up a picture to be blessed.
