Sedalia celebrated the Fourth of July in grand fashion through the day. The celebration started with a parade in Downtown Sedalia, hosted by Terry Cockrell, at 10 am. The parade lasted about a half hour and ended in time for the Good Ole Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration at Centennial Park in Sedalia. Cockrell announced during the parade that he intends to also host the New Year's Day Parade this winter.

The Fourth of July Celebration at the Missouri State Fairgrounds were packed full of people in the Pepsi Grandstand, all around the Missouri State Fairgrounds and in business parking lots along Highway 65 and 16th Streets. Full Moon entertained the crowd at the Pepsi Grandstand with a wide assortment of songs, before the fireworks. The Sedalia Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Angie Thompson, thanked everyone for coming out and then the Fireworks officially began around 9:15 and lasted for about 25 minutes this year.
