The sounds of holiday spirit will fill the Heckart Performing Arts Center as Sedalia 200 instrumental music students present their Winter Band Concert starting at 6 pm Thursday.

Among the highlights will be the fifth grade band’s performance of “Jingle Bells,” sixth graders playing “Frosty the Snowman” and a December Triptych by the seventh graders. The eighth grad band will lighten the mood with “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer” and the high school band will play “Sleigh Ride,” among other selections. All of the bands will come together for a mass performance of Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy.”

The night will include a silent auction of desserts made by band families; the auction will be in the Heckart center lobby. Admission to the concert is free for all ages.
The bands are led by Sedalia 200 Director of Instrumental Music Grant Maledy.
