Here's your afternoon crime report from the Sedalia Police Department for May 3, 2012.

48-year-old Pettis County Man Arrested Wednesday Afternoon on DWI charges

Just before 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, Sedalia police officers responded to South 65-highway on an impaired driver entering the city. The driver was located at 32nd and Limit was observed crossing lanes of travel. The report states the driver failed to stop when they activated sirens and lights, until he reached the 1600 block of Limit, then he stopped in the middle of the roadway. The driver, 48-year-old Kelly Bowring of Pettis County was arrested and taken to Bothwell Hospital to be cleared for confinement. He was then taken to the Pettis County Jail on charges of improper lane usage and driving while intoxicated.

Sedalia Man Booked and Released Pending Formal Charges for Destroying Property

Around 7 o’clock Wednesday night, Sedalia police responded to the 100 block of East 11th on a property damage complaint. According to the victim and a witness, the suspect Glenn D. Dawson Jr. took her cell phone and destroyed it. Dawson was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released pending formal charges, and a court date.

Warrant Check Wednesday Morning Nets Man with a Municipal Warrant

At 11:16 Wednesday morning, Sedalia police conducted a warrant check in the 200 block of West 2nd. Upon arrival, officers made contact with 27-year-old Troy Wright of Sedalia, who was found to have a Municipal failure to appear warrant. Wright was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail pending a $200 cash only bond.

Woman on East 26th Reports Thefts from her Vehicle

At 9:37 Wednesday morning, Sedalia police took a theft from a motor vehicle complaint from a female victim in the 400 block of East 26th. According to the complainant  someone stole several items from her vehicle sometime overnight. There was no information on a possible suspect at news time.

Wednesday night Murphy USA at 3203 West Broadway reported a $39.32 gas drive off. There are no suspects.
