On Monday (Sept 24), Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to obey a stop sign. Upon contact with the driver, police reportedly smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Dispatch also advised that the driver, 27-year old Miguel Angel Cavazos, of Sedalia, did not have a license. A search reportedly revealed marijuana and a large amount of cash, along with a pistol that had been reported stolen. Cavazos was arrested and the case is being sent to the prosecutor for review.


On Sept 7, Sedalia Police took a theft report in the 3000 block of Keith Allen Drive. The victim indicated a gun had been taken from a vehicle. The victim provided police with surveillance video that reportedly showed the suspect and theft. Then on Saturday (Sept 22), Sedalia Police arrested the suspect, 20-year old Jourdan D. Diehl in the 400 block of W. Broadway. A charge of Stealing is being sought for Diehl.


On Saturday night (Sept 22), the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 40-year old Heather M. Miller, of Sedalia, for DWI, Careless & Imprudent Driving Resulting in a Motor Vehicle Crash, Leaving the Scene of a Crash, and No Seatbelt. Miller was taken to the Pettis County Jail.
