On Tuesday (July 11), Pettis County Sheriff's deputies, along with members of the Pettis County Fire District, were dispatched to a structure fire that was reported in the 26000 block of Prairie Road. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation. There were no further details listed in that report.


Just before 9:00 Wednesday morning (July 12), Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check in the 800 block of Westwood Ave. Officers made contact with the suspect, 34-year old Sarah Sue Kearney, regarding two Benton County FTA warrants. According to the report, the warrants were confirmed and Kearney was arrested. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail. One warrant carried a bond of $200, while the other was a No-Bond warrant.


Around 1:00 Wednesday morning (July 12), Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of S. New York Ave and E. 24th Street. According to the report, an investigation revealed the driver had a revoked license and was intoxicated. Sedalia Police also discovered the driver had two active Pettis County warrants. The driver, 38-year old Alva L. Rasa, was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail, pending charges of DWI (persistent offender) and Driving While Revoked (persistent offender). According to the report, the warrants carried a bond of $460.
