Just after midnight Sunday, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of South Osage for a report of a subject who was screaming in the area. According to the report, the caller believed the screaming was coming from the Kentucky Avenue area and stated that a gun was somehow involved. Officers located the residence at which the incident allegedly took place. Police made contact with a woman who stated two men got into an altercation in front of her residence, and one man pulled out a gun. The report indicates the two men wrestled over the gun, before it was thrown towards the house, where the woman took control of the weapon. The report says that both men left the area before police arrived. The gun was collected and placed into evidence. There were no further details listed in the report.


Around 8:00 Sunday night (June 4), Sedalia Police responded to the area of West 7th Street and South Vermont Ave, in reference to a disturbance. An investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of two controlled substances. The suspect, 35-year old Dustin A. Lappat, was arrested for two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was placed on a 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail, pending charges.


On Saturday (June 3), Pettis County Sheriff's deputies responded to the 24000 block of Highway 756 in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies discovered one the subjects had a warrant from Cooper County. The subject, Derrick A. Clay, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond of $2,500.


On Sunday (June 4), Pettis County deputies assisted the Pettis County Fire Department with an investigation into a fire on Dunham Road, in Hughesville. There were no further details listed in the report, but the investigation is ongoing.
