On Tuesday (Mar 21), Sedalia Police conducted an area-check around West 18th Street and South Vermont Avenue. According to the report, officers made contact with a suspect who was attempting to break into a building. The suspect, 55-year-old Russell Marcus Bain, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, pending state charges for Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Property Damage, and Trespassing.


Around 2:30 Wednesday morning (Mar 22), Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of South Limit. According to the report, a Pettis County deputy was at Gate 11 of the Missouri State Fairgrounds, with a subject who was leaning over a steering wheel. It was determined the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated and had hit a fence post. The driver, 43-year-old Jennifer D. Mather, was arrested and taken into custody for DWI. She has a court date of May 10, 2017.


Around 5:30 Tuesday morning (Mar 21), Sedalia Police made contact with 38-year-old Michael D. Rackham in the area of 7th Street and Moniteau, regarding a Pettis County warrant for traffic violations. Rackham was arrested on the warrant and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a $1,500 bond.


Around 8:45 Tuesday morning (Mar 21), Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at Heck Avenue and James Road for a vehicle with no plates. According to the report, the suspect told officers he had warrants and no valid license. Dispatch confirmed that the suspect had probation violation warrants from Pettis County and St. Louis County. The suspect, 30-year-old Michael Williams, was arrested for the warrants and taken to the Pettis County Jail. The Pettis County warrant carried a bond of $150 and the St. Louis County warrant had no bond.


Sedalia Police took a theft report that had occurred in the 900 block of South Carr Avenue. The victim stated his handgun had been stolen from his vehicle sometime overnight, along with a pair of sunglasses. There were no further details listed in that report.


Sedalia Police took a report of a stolen vehicle in the 1200 block of South Carr Avenue, on Tuesday (Mar 21). The report states that someone took a 2014 black Chevrolet Equinox. The vehicle is valued at about $20,000. There are no suspects at this time.


On Wednesday (Mar 22), Pettis County Sheriff's deputies arrested Cassidy R. Doll for two FTA traffic warrants. The total bond was placed at $160.


On Tuesday (Mar 21), Pettis County deputies took a report of an Assault on a Corrections Officer at the Pettis County Jail. No further details were listed in that report.
