Around 12:40 Wednesday morning (Mar 29), Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of West 1st Street Terrace in reference to a man who was passed out behind the steering wheel of a running vehicle. Officers made contact with the man and the investigation revealed the man was allegedly intoxicated. The man, 26-year-old Jesus Nunez Guzman, was arrested for DWI. Guzman was placed on a 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail.


A 17-year-old Sedalia resident was arrested in connection to a report of several break-ins that allegedly occurred recently. On Tuesday (March 28), Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 2500 block of Stacey Lane in reference to several individuals breaking into the vehicles. The investigation allowed officers to locate several juveniles and one adult, who were allegedly involved with the break-ins, in the south and southwest portion of Sedalia. According to the report, the case is being referred to the Juvenile Office, while state charges of Stealing from a Motor Vehicle are pending for 17-year-old Jonathan D. Brown.


On Wednesday (Mar 29), Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue, in regards to a possible burglary. According to the report, a witness said that a male suspect kicked in the front door of the victim's apartment. Officers arrived and noticed damage to the front door, but the suspect has left the scene prior to officers arrival. No further details were listed in that report.


Around 6:15 Monday evening (Mar 27), Sedalia Police took a report of an assault that occurred near East Walnut and South Hill Avenue. According to the report, a woman was walking down the street, when a vehicle approached, and someone in the vehicle allegedly shot the woman numerous times in the leg, with a paintball gun. Authorities say a suspect has been identified but has not been located at this time. No further details or names were listed in the report.
