On Friday (Oct 6), the Pettis County Sheriff's Department took a report of a burglary that occurred in the 5100 block of South Lake Drive. The missing items were described as a large amount of jewelry and two jewelry boxes. The total value of the items was placed at $5,000. There were no further details listed in the report.


On Friday (Oct 6), Sedalia Police reportedly observed a vehicle at Grand Ave and W. 16th Street with the front windshield and front passenger window missing. The vehicle also had expired license plates. Sedalia Police stopped the vehicle at 14th Street and Vermont Ave. Police say the driver, 20-year old David E. Alexander, was found to have a suspended license. Alexander was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released with a court date of Nov. 8, 2017.


On Wednesday (Oct 4), Sedalia Police arrested 25-year old Tanaeia K Smith on a Pettis County warrant. Smith was taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a $1,500 bond.


On Wednesday (Oct 4), Sedalia Police took a burglary report from Fortune Palace on S. Limit. The report indicates someone had broken into the business and stole about $400 in cash. There are no suspects at this time.
